Best guns in Warzone Season 3

Warzone’s meta has shifted again following the launch of Season 3 and Verdansk’s return, so to make sure your classes are still competitive, you need to run the best guns.

The arrival of several classic new weapons and various buffs and nerfs means that you’ll once again have to figure out what to use in Call of Duty‘s battle royale. After all, your old builds won’t necessarily cut it anymore if you want to win as many games as possible.

Old favorites like the Kilo 141 and HDR have returned, so to help you figure out what to use in Verdansk, here are the top 10 guns in Warzone.

These are the top ten weapons in Warzone following the Season 3 update. We’ve ranked them based on our preference, but you’ll be able to use any weapon on this list and still be dominant, so give them all a try and see what suits your playstyle.

PPSh-41

Activision / Dexerto

If you struggle with tracking cracked players using omnimovement, then the PPSh-41 might just be the SMG for you. While it doesn’t kill quite as fast as the other SMGs and feels a little clunky, it’s extremely consistent. 

You won’t be punished nearly as much for hitting extremities like arms and legs, plus it’s got extremely clean iron sights. It’s not for everyone, but it can still be extremely dominant in the right hands.

AK-74

Dexerto / Activision

The AK-74 got another buff in Season 3 and while it’s not as easy to use as the other ARs on this list, it’s the perfect sniper support weapon. 

With huge damage-per-mag that still hits hard at long range, it’s more consistent than a lot of the SMGs on this list. It just doesn’t excel in one area – you’d still want an SMG at close range or an AMAX at long range – but it perfectly fits that sniper support area.

If you need something that’s still competitive at close and long range to use alongside your sniper, you can’t go wrong with the AK-74.

C9

Dexerto

The C9 is a great SMG for getting up close and personal with your enemies, and it rewards headshots thanks to its buffed multiplier in Season 3. 

It’s fast and easy to use, but you’ll probably notice that hitting the stomach and legs kills its TTK, so you’ll need to be accurate to get the most from it.

It’s still a deadly option, but you might have more success with some of the other options on this list. Still, you can use the best C9 loadout attachments to get the most from it.

Cypher 091 

Activision / Dexerto

Previously the number one meta AR, the Cypher 091 has been knocked off its pedestal by Season 3’s new additions, but it’s still a fantastic choice.

It got a big buff in Season 2 Reloaded, increasing its damage, and it remained a consistently powerful and easy-to-use Assault Rifle. It’s just not quite as good as the Grau, Kilo, or AMAX.

Saug

Activision / Dexerto

The Saug was buffed in the Season 3 update, catapulting an already strong SMG into the meta. Although not quite as consistent as the KSV, it’s got excellent movement speed, which lets you fly around the map. 

Its TTK is right up there with the best SMGs, plus it has really clean iron sights, so if you’re an aggressive player that favors Resurgence or getting up in players’ faces, you can’t go wrong with it.

KSV – Best SMG in Warzone

While all of the SMGs feel similar because of their fast time to kill, the KSV shines through as the most forgiving.

With other SMGs, hitting anything other than the chest and head will kill their TTK, but the KSV doesn’t suffer from this too much. Combined with high mobility and a fast ADS speed, it perfectly complements a primary weapon like the Kilo or AMAX.

Kilo 141

The Kilo 141 is the new meta jack-of-all-trades gun because it’s so easy to use. With many of Warzone’s fights taking place at long range, there’s always a place in the meta for a low-recoil Assault Rifle, and the Kilo fills that place perfectly. 

It’s no slouch when it comes to damage either, taking full advantage of Season 3’s fast TTK. It might struggle at extremely long or close ranges, but you’ll never feel at a disadvantage using it, so make sure to check out the best Kilo 141 Warzone loadout.

Swat 5.56 (Grau conversion)

Activision / Dexerto

The Grau 5.56 has returned as a conversion kit for the Swat 5.56, and like its original form, it’s an absolute laser beam. Not much separates it from the Kilo, but the Grau kills slightly faster at longer ranges, and you can feel the difference. 

Although the iron sights aren’t quite as clean as they originally were, they’re still among the best in the game, and beaming enemies’ heads will be extremely easy. To make it as accurate and easy to use as possible, check out the best Swat 5.56 loadout.

HDR – Best sniper in Warzone

Activision / Dexerto

The HDR is the perfect Sniper Rifle in Warzone thanks to its ability to one-shot-headshot at any range and high bullet velocity. 

This sniper was a menace in the original Verdansk, and once again, you’ll need to keep an eye on rooftops and windows as, more likely than not, the last thing you see before going to the Gulag is the sniper glint from an HDR.

CR-56 AMAX – Best gun in Warzone 

Activision / Dexerto

The CR-56 AMAX was an extremely dominant choice during Verdansk’s first run, and the Black Ops 6 version is just as powerful as ever, being the best gun in Season 3. 

Although harder to control than the Kilo or Swat 5.56, it packs a serious punch with a blisteringly fast TTK if you land your shots. Plus, the bullet velocity makes it feel almost like hitscan. In a face-on-face gunfight, the AMAX will come out on top more often than not.

It was slightly held back by its 45-round mag in the original Verdansk, but Black Ops 6 has given it a 60-round mag, so there’s almost no reason not to use it.

The best CR-56 AMAX loadout attachments make it easy to control, but if you’re looking for next to zero recoil, the Grau remains a safe bet.
